Ferrari waiting list up to three years for 599 GTB and 430
If you are looking to get your hands on a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano or a 430 coupe and spider you may have to be patient - really patient. After a record year for Ferrari driven by the success of the two models, Ferrari is a bit backed up. Those living in the UK may have to wait a minimum of three years before they can get their 599 or 430. UK happens to be Ferrari’s third-largest market after United States and Germany.

Those interested in the 599 GTB will have to wait 36 months, while buyers of the 430 Coupe and 430 Spider have a waiting list of 30 months. The wait for the 612 Scaglietti is around 24 months.

Ferrari said a total of 6,465 passenger cars were delivered to customers across the globe in 2007. That figure was up 14 percent from 5,671 in 2006.

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten an update on the Ferrari P4/5, but Matt Farah of New York Motor Club fame spent some time with the always affable James Glickenhaus at the Palm Beach Supercar Weekend to see how things are going with the man’s bespoke-bodied Enzo. Aside from getting to see the P4/5 from a series of angles, Farah gets into some of the details that Glickenhaus has added after fleshing out the hyper car over the course of its life. The new exhaust tips were one topic of conversation. Based off the 2003 Ferrari F1 car’s exhaust setup, they actually provide more downforce as exhaust gases are expelled onto the rear wing. There’s plenty of other technical tidbits to be had, so hit the jump to watch the video.

Very first Ferrari headed to Palm Springs
After being hidden away for more than 20 years, the very first Ferrari ever built will be set on display at the inaugural Desert Classic Concours d’Elegance in Palm Springs, California. This will also be the first time that the car, marked chassis number 01C, will be on display on the U.S. West Coast, while the Palm Springs site itself is significant to Ferrari’s history in that it’s the place where the carmaker scored its first US race win back in 1951.

Other noteworthy entries include a 1930 Rally ABC, a 1926 Studebaker, a 1956 Alfa Villedeste, a 1955 Jaguar D-type and a rare 1941 Packard, custom-designed by Howard ‘Dutch’ Darrin.

“Our event will focus attention to the unique history Palm Springs has in relation to these historically significant cars, as well as the celebrities and drivers that made them famous,” event organizer Paul Merrigan boasted. Over 100 cars are expected to be on display, both old and new, and there will even be a competition to pick a car that best reflects the theme of the event, in this case sports car races of the 1950s.

The event starts on Friday February 29 with a 50km tour through Palm Springs for the first thirty qualifying automobiles.
